GB Hawking will become an Official Club Partner for the remainder of the 2026/27 season. As part of the agreement, GB Hawking\'s team and their trained birds of prey will carry out regular work at Roots Hall using natural, eco-friendly methods to deter gulls and pigeons. This will keep the stadium cleaner and more welcoming for supporters, players and staff. Falconry is a humane, chemical-free deterrent that encourages problem birds to move on rather than harming them, making it a natural fit for a seaside club. GB Hawking already works with organisations including Savills, Shepherd Neame Brewery and Canterbury City Council. Catherine Honey at Southend United, said: “We’re delighted to welcome GB Hawking as an official partner of the Club. Their natural, humane approach will help deter pigeons and other birds from Roots Hall, keeping the stadium cleaner and more welcoming for everyone. We look forward to working with Gary and the team.” Gary Bartlett, Director at GB Hawking, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Cath and her team at Southend United FC. By using our specially trained hawks, we aim to deter pigeons and gulls from feeding, roosting and nesting at Roots Hall, helping to create a safer, cleaner and more hygienic environment for everyone at the club, from staff to supporters. We look forward to building a successful partnership and wish Southend United every success for the remainder of the season!” The Club would like to thank GB Hawking for its support and looks forward to a successful partnership.
