Eutelsat will continue to supply satellite capacity at 16° East, while A1 will provide headend hosting, uplink and associated broadcast services. Antik Sat will use the infrastructure to distribute its television line-up to subscribers. The companies have not disclosed the contract’s duration or the amount of capacity covered. Eutelsat said its 16° East orbital position carries hundreds of television channels and reaches more than 80 million DTH, cable and IPTV homes across Central and Eastern Europe. Vlastimil Lakatoš, Chief Product Officer at Antik Telecom, said the agreement secures the foundation of the Antik Sat platform and ensures continuity for customers in Slovakia. “By combining Eutelsat’s proven satellite infrastructure with A1’s technical expertise and service capabilities, we can continue to provide a compelling television offering and a high-quality viewing experience,” he said. Jakub Brzeczkowski, RVP Sales Video Europe at Eutelsat, said the renewal builds on the companies’ longstanding relationship, while A1’s Elena Petrova, Head of Content, Broadcasting & Media Solutions at A1 International Business, confirmed the group would continue supporting Antik Sat through its managed broadcast services.
