5th December 2024 Andrew Birchall Game Attended Arsenal v Manchester United Competition Premier League Date 04/12/2024 Why were you looking forward to this game and visiting the ground itself? Only visiting as it was a midweek game match and I was in the area. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking? Very easy to get to - tube and trains close by. Drayton Park station very convenient for the away end. What you did before the game pub/chippy etc, and were the home fans friendly? Drayton Park pub. Definitely no longer an away fans pub - although you are only asked who you are supporting on the door. Home fans were friendly. What you thought on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the stadium? Stadium has a very European feel with very shallowly raked lower tier away end, with an overhanging upper tier, making the view not great. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, facilities etc.. Good match atmosphere, Stadium facilities excellent. Good range of food but a little exotic for a football ground - could do with some plainer more standard options. Hot dogs excellent. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game Lengthy queues to get into Highbury and Islington station as access was controlled. Made for a long and very late night - not helped by the 20:15 kick off. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out An average away trip. Have been to better away ends- and worse! See more
