Charlotte Athletics Expands Digital Access to Internet Radio Broadcasts 8/20/2026 3:10:00 PM | Football, General, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball Share: CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte Athletics announced today that all football and men's and women's basketball audio broadcasts will be internet radio broadcasts beginning with the 2026-27 season. The internet radio broadcasts will be available exclusively through Charlotte49ers.com and the official Charlotte 49ers Athletics mobile app, giving Niner Nation free, convenient access to every game from their smartphone, tablet, or computer. The move, in partnership with Fourcast Sports Media, the exclusive and official Audio Streaming Partner of Charlotte Athletics, will enhance the fan experience by placing live game broadcasts directly on Charlotte's official digital platforms, making it easier than ever for supporters to follow the 49ers whether at home, on the road, or on the go. The integrated streaming experience is available through both the athletics website and the official mobile app, which already serves as the central hub for schedules, rosters, scores, stats, tickets, news, and gameday information. "This is another important step in meeting our fans where they are," said Kevin White , Director of Athletics. "Our goal is to make Charlotte Athletics as accessible as possible while continuing to enhance the overall fan experience. By bringing our audio broadcasts exclusively to internet radio on Charlotte49ers.com and our mobile app, we're creating a seamless platform where Niner Nation can follow our programs from anywhere." Fans will be able to listen live to every Charlotte football and men's and women's basketball game, as well as coaches shows, through a dedicated "Listen Live" feature on Charlotte49ers.com and within the Charlotte 49ers Athletics app. The broadcasts will continue to feature the familiar play-by-play coverage from "Voice of the Niners" Matt Swierad and the expert analysis fans have come to expect while offering an improved digital listening experience. Charlotte's official athletics app is available free for both Apple and Android devices. "This transition reflects how fans increasingly consume live sports content," said Charles Nieves , Deputy AD - Chief Revenue Officer. "Streaming through Charlotte's official digital platforms provides greater flexibility and ensures fans can stay connected to the 49ers wherever they are. For Niner Nation, live coverage will now be just a click away." The exclusive streaming platform will return with Charlotte Football's season opener against The Citadel (Sept. 5) and will continue throughout the football and basketball seasons. Swierad is joined on the call of Niner football by analyst Al Wallace and sideline reporter Bobby Rosinski. Fourcast Sports, a multi-platform content company producing engaging podcasts, radio shows, and digital media, will provide engineering support as well as pregame, halftime, and postgame elements to elevate each Niner broadcast throughout the football and basketball seasons. Fans can download the Charlotte 49ers Athletics app through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store or visit Charlotte49ers.com on game day to access each live broadcast. Video broadcasts of Charlotte Athletics, including but not limited to football and men's and women's basketball, will continue to be provided through ESPN+.
