DAZN expands broadcast deal with Kings League to carry World Cup Clubs 2026

DAZN expands broadcast deal with Kings League to carry World Cup Clubs 2026 16th July 2026 By Andy Elliott --> July 16 – DAZN is doubling down on Gerard Piqué’s Kings League and it’s asking a bigger question than most people realise. The streaming giant has expanded its deal to carry the Kings World Cup Clubs 2026, all 27 matches, free-to-air across Europe, Canada, Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Oceania. The tournament runs in Milan from July 26 to August 1, with the top 16 clubs from seven regions fighting for the title. The names involved are worth paying attention to. Lamine Yamal, Neymar Jr., James Rodríguez, and Hasan Salihamidžić are leading teams. So are creators like Ibai Llanos and Juan Guarnizo. This is football stitched together with YouTube and Twitch, seven-a-side, fast, loud, and built for a generation that watches on a phone. DAZN chief Shay Segev didn’t hold back: “Kings League is one of the most exciting new sports entertainment properties in the world.” He called DAZN “the global home of football,” well placed to grow formats like this one. When a seven-a-side show with influencers and social feeds pulls in mammoth crowds, is the appetite for other forms of the game bigger than the traditional lot want to admit? Five-a-side, futsal, beach football, kickabouts in the park. The game was never only 11 versus 11 on a Saturday. Kings League boss Djamel Agaoua sees a movement, not a novelty. He talked about “elite competition, creators and unforgettable emotions” redefining how young people experience sport. Last year’s final drew a crowd in Paris. This year lands in Milan with bigger names and wider reach. Contact the writer of this story, Nick Webster, at [email protected]
