By Aashay Khandelwal August 24, 2026 WhatsApp Linkedin Facebook X Telegram DAZN retains Serie A as UK rights landscape evolves DAZN has renewed its media rights agreement with Lega Serie A to continue broadcasting Italian top-flight football in the United Kingdom and Ireland during the 2026-27 season, retaining the rights to all 380 matches. The renewed agreement will see DAZN stream every Serie A fixture, with seven matches per matchweek available exclusively on the platform. The new agreement represents a modest shift in the distribution structure from the previous rights cycle, when eight matches per matchweek were exclusive to DAZN. The revised arrangement enables Serie A to increase its exposure through additional broadcast partners while preserving DAZN’s position as the only platform offering access to the competition’s complete fixture list. TNT Sports will continue to carry selected non-exclusive Serie A matches, while the BBC has expanded its free-to-air coverage for the upcoming campaign. The broadcaster will show 38 matches during the 2026-27 season, with fixtures distributed across BBC iPlayer and BBC ALBA. The broader distribution strategy gives Serie A a combination of subscription, pay-TV and free-to-air exposure in one of Europe’s most commercially important sports markets. DAZN has also strengthened its wider relationship with Serie A internationally, securing rights in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland through the end of the 2028-29 season. The agreements underline the broadcaster’s growing role in the international distribution of Italian football. Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said, “Serie A is one of the world’s great football competitions, with a passionate fanbase and a rich football heritage. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Lega Serie A and to bring every match to fans across the UK and Ireland for the 2026-27 season. DAZN is proud to be Serie A’s largest partner both in Italy and internationally, reflecting the depth of our commitment to the league and our shared ambition to expand its global audience. This renewal marks our continued investment in premium football content and the best viewing experience for fans. Together with our extensive football portfolio and our long-term partnership with Serie A across multiple markets, it further strengthens DAZN’s position as the global home of sport.” The renewal further strengthens DAZN’s football portfolio in the UK and Ireland, which also includes the National League, National League North and National League South, alongside FIFA+ content and other football programming. For Serie A, retaining comprehensive coverage on DAZN while expanding its presence across other broadcasters provides a broader route to audiences, balancing the commercial value of subscription rights with the reach offered by free-to-air television.
