DAZN, NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves Ink Live Local Streaming Rights Deal Erik Gruenwedel July 31, 2026 The NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves have inked a local streaming rights agreement with DAZN, naming the global sports streaming platform with 20 million subscribers as the franchise’s new exclusive home for Timberwolves basketball across its local broadcast territory. The deal operates independently of the NBA’s national media rights agreement with Peacock, Prime Video and ESPN Unlimited, among others, through broadcast carve-outs and geographical boundaries. Through a new team-branded subscription service launching later this summer on DAZN, fans can stream games plus access broader team content. Fifteen games will be available for free this season, in addition to access through subscription. While DAZN holds the exclusive regional rights to stream all locally broadcast preseason and regular-season games, national media partners hold ultimate exclusivity for their selected games. “Our commitment to the best possible fan experience is what drives everything we do,” said Matthew Caldwell, CEO of the Timberwolves and WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx. “With DAZN, we’re delivering on that promise, bringing Timberwolves basketball directly to fans.” The partnership also includes live and on-demand viewing and interactive features such as live in-game fan chats, polls, and quizzes. Available in more than 200 markets worldwide, DAZN has live-streaming deals with sports franchises including the NFL, NHL, soccer, boxing, MMA and other major leagues, competitions and properties.
