By Aashay Khandelwal August 22, 2026 WhatsApp Linkedin Facebook X Telegram DAZN’s ViewLift acquisition signals bigger ambitions in US regional sports DAZN has completed its acquisition of US sports streaming technology company ViewLift, strengthening the global sports platform’s technology capabilities and expanding its footprint across the increasingly fragmented US regional sports market. The transaction, first announced in April 2026, brings ViewLift’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming technology, customer relationships and extensive experience in US sports into the DAZN Group. Founded as a specialist OTT technology provider, ViewLift delivers an end-to-end platform covering video streaming, content management, analytics, fan engagement and monetisation. Its technology has been used by professional sports teams and regional sports networks to launch and operate branded streaming services, helping rights holders establish direct relationships with their audiences. Following completion, ViewLift will operate as a standalone business within DAZN, with its existing leadership and team remaining in place. The structure allows DAZN to integrate ViewLift’s technology and US market expertise into its wider global streaming infrastructure while retaining the flexibility of the ViewLift platform for B2B and B2B2C customers. The acquisition comes as the US regional sports market undergoes a fundamental shift away from traditional pay-TV distribution. With cord-cutting accelerating and consumers increasingly moving towards streaming, teams and regional sports networks are seeking greater control over distribution, customer data and monetisation. Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said, “ViewLift is officially part of DAZN, and I couldn’t be more pleased to have them on board. Welcoming ViewLift to the DAZN family gives us an even stronger platform to serve leagues, teams and rights holders across the US and around the world. With additional platform capabilities, longstanding relationships across US sports and years of experience helping rights holders adapt to a changing and evolving sports media landscape, ViewLift enhances our innovative technology and global reach to deliver even more choice and value for our partners and their fans.” Rick Allen, CEO of ViewLift, added, “Joining DAZN marks an exciting new chapter for ViewLift. We’ve built a business focused on helping leagues, teams and networks launch and grow successful streaming products. By joining DAZN, we’re creating new opportunities for our partners to expand their reach, accelerate growth and deliver even more engaging experiences to fans, while continuing to benefit from the flexibility and service that have defined ViewLift’s success.” The acquisition also arrives as DAZN expands its US regional sports portfolio. The company has secured agreements to become the exclusive DTC streaming home of MSG Networks and YES Network for the 2026-27 NBA and NHL seasons, while also agreeing to a regional media rights partnership with the Indiana Pacers With ViewLift adding technology relationships covering 17 additional teams and six regional sports networks, DAZN is positioning itself beyond the role of a conventional streaming service. The strategic objective is increasingly clear: to become a technology, distribution and monetisation partner for sports rights holders seeking to build sustainable direct-to-fan businesses in the evolving US sports media market.
