ADVERTISEMENT Prime Video Lands Exclusive In-Market Streaming Rights for Six NHL Teams Beginning This Season By: Brandon Costa, Director of Digital • Posted on: September 2, 2026 • 3 minute read ADVERTISEMENT Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues will offer in-market game packages through Prime Video in 2026-27 Prime Video is making another significant move into the local-sports business, striking a multi-year agreement with the NHL that will make the service an exclusive local streaming home for six teams beginning with the 2026-27 season. The defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues will each make their local game broadcasts available through Prime Video to fans within their respective regional territories. The streaming packages will include regular-season games along with pregame and postgame shows and additional team programming. Each club will announce its own pricing, subscription structure, and availability details. For example, the Minnesota Wild have shared that “fans within the Minnesota Wild local broadcast territory can watch Wild games on Prime Video by purchasing either a monthly ($19.99) or annual ($99.99) subscription. The subscription is available for all Amazon customers.” “Fans want an easy way to find and follow their favorite teams, and this agreement with Prime Video gives clubs the flexibility to meet that demand as the market evolves,” said David Proper, the NHL’s Chief Media Officer and Senior Executive Vice President . “Together, we’re creating new opportunities for clubs to reach fans and delivering a premium, accessible regional viewing experience.” The agreement further expands Prime Video’s role in regional sports distribution at a time when teams and leagues continue to add direct-to-consumer options alongside — and, in some markets, in place of — traditional regional-sports-network models. Prime Video has steadily assembled a portfolio of local sports offerings in the U.S. The platform already distributes regional coverage from the Seattle Kraken, MSG Networks, Chicago Sports Network, NESN, SNY, YES Network, Marquee Sports Network, and NBC Sports’ regional networks serving Boston, Philadelphia, and the Bay Area, among others. “We’re excited to build upon our strong relationship with the NHL and provide fans with more ways to connect with the local teams they love,” said Charlie Neiman, Head of Sports Partnerships, Prime Video . “We have firmly established Prime Video as a primary destination for sports and look forward to helping these teams broaden the reach and accessibility of their live games.” The deal also deepens Amazon’s relationship with the NHL. Earlier this summer, Prime Video secured a 12-year agreement to exclusively carry Wednesday-night national regular-season NHL games in Canada in both English and French, along with postseason coverage. For the six U.S. clubs covered by the new agreement, in-market subscribers will be able to stream games through Prime Video on connected TVs, mobile devices, game consoles, set-top boxes, and the web. Out-of-market viewing will continue to be available through NHL Center Ice.
