The technology has changed how the leisure and hospitality industries manage those customer obligations. With CardsSafe, golf centres can safely store bank and ID cards, opening up opportunities to upsell in the clubhouse while protecting rental equipment from going missing. Its wireless technology also supports customer hires, letting staff act quickly if equipment needs fixing or replacing, and lets teams offer customers bar tabs to support food and drink sales. The CardsSafe system now operates in golf clubs nationwide, including some of the most celebrated names in the game — Foxhills, Silvermere, The London Golf Club and Redlibbets among them — with demand continuing to grow. It’s used to support both customer equipment hires and food and drink tabs in the clubhouse. The London Golf Club first installed CardsSafe in 2008, adding further units in 2014 and again in 2020 to support customer golf equipment hires on site. The system is also used by the club’s catering staff serving golfers food and drinks out on the course. Food and Beverage Operations Manager Grant Rumbelow said: “CardsSafe has been a welcome addition to the London Golf Club. We utilise the system in our Golf Shop and Spike Bar, and on-course with our Drinks Buggy. With CardsSafe, we can safely store customers’ cards whilst they enjoy their round of golf.” CardsSafe is well suited to golf courses, helping to improve both security and profits.
