Around the NFL NFL Network: Steelers trading 2023 first-round OT Broderick Jones to Cowboys Published: Updated: Loading... Around the NFL Staff NFL.com Share Facebook Share Twitter The Steelers' first-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft has a new home. Pittsburgh is trading offensive tackle Broderick Jones to the Cowboys, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Saturday. Dallas announced the swap on Sunday. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Steelers are receiving a future third- and sixth-round draft pick in the deal, while the Cowboys also get a fourth-rounder in addition to Jones. Jones has made 38 starts and appeared in 45 games for the Steelers, but the writing was on the wall after Pittsburgh drafted Max Iheanachor at No. 21 overall in the '26 draft, and especially once Jones played deep into the fourth quarter in all three of the team's preseason games this month. Prior to his injury, Jones struggled to establish himself on the Steelers' O-line. The 14th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Jones has allowed 22 sacks in his career, which is fourth among tackles since 2023, per Pro Football Focus. In 2025, Jones garnered a 57.7 overall PFF grade, which was 70th among 89 qualified offensive tackles, and the Steelers declined his fifth-year option earlier this offseason. He now gets a fresh start in Dallas. Veterans Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele are expected to start at tackle this season, but the Cowboys had been in the market for depth at the swing spot.
