ITVX Sees Record June Streaming Driven by World Cup Soccer and ‘Love Island’ Erik Gruenwedel July 2, 2026 ITVX, the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform in the United Kingdom, saw record June streaming views driven by the ongoing FIFA World Cup soccer tournament and the reality dating show “Love Island U.K.” The platform said it surpassed 400 million monthly streams for the first time in its history — an increase of 173 million streams compared to June 2025 last year, and an increase of 85 million streams over the previous monthly record in January 2026. ITVX has surpassed 2 billion streams in under six months for the first time ever, hitting the tally on June 22 — more than 28 days earlier than last year (July 20). ITV’s highest peak audience of the year with 16.4 million viewers came on June 17 for the England vs. Croatia knockout match. With reality dating show “Love Island U.K.” also on ITV2 and ITVX that night, ITV had a 98% share of 16-34 viewing between 9 and 10 pm. Sixteen of the top 20 live-streamed audiences on ITVX this year have been in the last 20 days for World Cup matches. ITV showed seven out of the top 10 biggest matches in the group stages, including England’s two winning games, with peak audiences of 16.4 million and 13.8 million, respectively, as well as the opening match of the tournament, Mexico vs. South Africa, Norway vs. France, Netherlands vs. Japan, Scotland vs. Morocco, and Germany vs. Cote D’Ivoire. Throughout the tournament ITV has offered fans a dedicated fan zone experience on the ITVX mobile app ,which has delivered 14 million total sessions to date. Separately, “Love Island” continues to be the top single title on ITVX in 2026, with the proportion of the audience now coming from streaming rising to 64% of the total audience, up from 53% for the same period last year. The show is the top title for 16-34 year olds outside of soccer across any channel, and the only title outside of the World Cup to achieve a 16-34 share above 50%. ITVX’s drama catalog also maintained strong viewer engagement in June with seven dramas each achieving more than 1 million streams since the start of the World Cup. Top-performing titles included “Vera,” “Believe Me,” “The Family Next Door,” “Cape Rock Killer” and “The Affair.” June has also seen a double digit uplift in movies since the World Cup began, with top titles including The Gentleman , the “Taken” franchise and Dirty Dancing . In the first 90 days of the year, ITVX saw monthly active users grow 12% to 16.5 million. Subscribe HERE to the FREE Media Play News Daily Newsletter!
