Surrey have secured the signing of England International Freya Kemp, who will join ahead of the 2027 season on a multi-year deal. The all-rounder has represented England 49 times, with 585-runs across 36 innings and has taken 36 wickets across both formats with an average of 22.5 in WODIs and just over 20 in WT20s with her left-arm seam-bowling. Born in London, Kemp has played the past two seasons of her domestic cricket at Hampshire, having represented the Southern Vipers in the regional cricket era. With a total of 1561 runs in List A cricket to her name, she averaged 59.60 in the 2025 Metro Bank Women’s One Day Cup. The 21-year-old has had a standout summer for England with both the bat and ball. Striking at 157.89 at an average of 45 in the Women’s T20 World Cup, she also produced England’s best bowling figures of 4/22 against Sri Lanka in the opening match of the tournament. Kemp brings with her experience from the global franchise game having represented Welsh Fire and the Southern Brave in The Hundred, and Perth Scorchers in the WBBL. Emma Calvert, Director of Women’s Cricket said, “We are very excited to welcome Freya to the Three Feathers. She is an incredibly exciting young player who has already shown her potential on the international stage. “The experience she has gained across international, franchise and domestic cricket along with her character and work ethic will be a huge asset to the club both on and off the pitch. We are really looking forward to welcoming her into the dressing room and seeing her out there at the Kia Oval.” Freya Kemp on her signing said, “I’m really excited to join Surrey. They are a huge club and have an amazing squad. I have enjoyed chatting with Emma & Johann [Myburgh] and I’m looking forward to working with them and the rest of the coaches, continuing to develop and improve.” “I am very grateful for my time at Hampshire, who have played a key role in my development to get where I am today. I want to extend a big thank you to all the staff, players and members for their support during my time there. I will look back on my time at Hampshire with great fondness and happiness.” “It was a hard decision but the opportunity to play for Surrey and be closer to home was one I couldn’t turn down. I am now looking forward to hopefully contributing to Surrey both on and off the pitch.” “Being able to call the Kia Oval home is going to be really special, and I can’t wait to get stuck in.” Buy Tickets Secure your seat for upcoming fixtures Membership Get closer to the club you love Events A world class events venue Hospitality Premium Hospitality at the Kia Oval Shop Surrey Show your colours DOWNLOAD FIXTURES TO YOUR CALENDAR Download Men's FixturesDownload Women's Fixtures Latest Articles How to plan a sustainable corporate event October 2, 2026 Lawrence and Spence win Players’ Player at 2026 Awards October 2, 2026 Seb Stuart-Reckling to leave Surrey October 1, 2026 Related Posts Signings & ContractsWomen's TeamCharlotte Lambert set to leave Surrey and join Glamorgan at the end of the 2026 season Charlotte Lambert set to leave Surrey and join Glamorgan at the end of the 2026 season Life time Surrey player, Charlotte Lambert is set to depart the Club at the end of the season.
