Group, one of India’s top names in Ayurvedic and herbal healthcare, has obtained the Rajasthan Rangers franchise in the Kia Tennis Premier League (TPL) ahead of its eighth season. Salim Diwan, Managing Director of the RAPL Group, will oversee the franchise alongside Dr. Sattar Diwan, Chairman of the RAPL Group, and Jonu Rana, Vice-Chairman of Rajasthan Rangers, signifying the group’s entry into India’s professional sports ecosystem. Sania Mirza, an iconic Indian tennis figure, has joined Rajasthan Rangers as a brand ambassador, adding to the franchise’s star power. Sania’s unrivalled legacy, global significance, and close connection with Indian tennis add enormous value to the team’s aim of creating a strong and compelling tennis ecosystem. They have hired Australian tennis great Rinky Hijikata as their International Marquee Player, demonstrating their dedication and ambition for bringing quality international tennis to India. Rinky, only 25 years old, has already won the 2023 Australian Open Men’s Doubles championship and finished second in Men’s Doubles at Wimbledon 2025. TPL is one of India’s fastest-growing professional tennis assets, bringing together top Indian talent, worldwide tennis stars, and a unique franchise-based system that continues to expand the sport’s reach. The league recently bolstered its ecosystem by bringing on Kia India as an exclusive multi-year partner, which includes the Principal Partnership for all eight teams. With the TPL now in its eighth season, the inclusion of Rajasthan Aushdhalaya indicates the rising interest of established corporate entities in investing in and contributing to the growth of Indian tennis. Salim Diwan, who oversees Rajasthan Aushdhalaya, sees the foray into tennis as an opportunity to blend the group’s tradition in wellness and healthcare with his love of sports and a desire to help expand Indian tennis. With a history dating back to 1952, Diwan feels Rajasthan Rangers may serve as a platform for connecting professional tennis with young talent, health, wellbeing, and the sports community throughout Rajasthan and India. Salim Diwan, Managing Director, Rajasthan Aushdhalaya Pvt. Ltd., said, “We are delighted to join the Tennis Premier League and take forward the Rajasthan Rangers. Tennis represents discipline, fitness and excellence — values that strongly align with ourphilosophy. Through the Rangers, we hope to support young talent and contribute meaningfully to the growth of tennis in India.” Diwan’s ambition goes beyond the franchise, with an emphasis on making tennis more accessible and providing more possibilities for young Indian players to continue the sport. He feels that improved grassroots development, increased exposure, and long-term commitment are critical to developing the next generation of Indian tennis winners. Sania Mirza added, “I’m thrilled to be associated with a team that values both talent and innovation. Salim’s vision aligns perfectly with what Indian tennis needs—structured, long-term investment. I’m looking forward to supporting the Rajasthan Rangers this season.” Kunal Thakkur, Co-Founder of TPL , said, “We are delighted to welcome Salim Diwan and RAPL Group to the TPL family. Their legacy, entrepreneurial vision and commitment to creating a positive impact make them anexciting addition to the league.” TPL Co-Founder, Mrunal Jain, added, “The entry of RAPL Group further demonstrates the growing appeal of TPL as a platform for businesses to invest in Indian tennis. We are excited to see what this new chapter brings for the franchise.” Rajasthan Rangers will continue to represent Rajasthan in the Tennis Premier League, with the new owners hoping to strengthen relationships with fans while providing more chances for tennis and rising talent in the region.
