Marcus Rashford and 4 more wingers could join Newcastle after big Anthony Gordon update A major Anthony Gordon transfer update has emerged as Newcastle assess their options ahead of the summer Comments Harry Brent 10:04, 21 Apr 2026 View 4 Images Anthony Gordon's Newcastle future is up in the air Newcastle are prepared to listen to offers for Anthony Gordon this summer - but will only sell him if the price is right. That's according to The Times , who claim that Bayern Munich have the Magpies winger firmly in their crosshairs . Their initial valuation of the 25-year-old is believed to be around £55million, a figure Newcastle are not currently willing to consider. That said, the club are open to a dialogue and could be persuaded to sell Gordon if Bayern increase their offer to £75m, according to the report. Should a deal go through, Newcastle would be left short in attack and would likely need to bring in reinforcements this summer. Here, Chronicle Live takes a look at five potential replacements Eddie Howe could target - including two of Gordon's England team-mates. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! Keep up with all the Newcastle United latest via the Chronicle’s dedicated Facebook page Marcus Rashford Although Marcus Rashford is angling for a permanent move to Barcelona, the Catalan club have yet to agree a deal with Manchester United - despite a £26m buyout clause included in his loan agreement. After making a strong start in Spain, Rashford's form has dipped in 2026 and it's understood Barcelona's interest in keeping him beyond this season has significantly cooled. Negotiations are still open between Barca and Man United but if they break down completely, Newcastle could swoop in. In terms of profile, Rashford offers the same directness and positional versatility as Gordon but with a higher goal-scoring ceiling, having netted 30 times back in 2022/23. The Belgian ended up joining RB Leipzig last summer but it's understood he'd be open to a move to a Premier League. Like Gordon, Bakayako is a direct, explosive winger who thrives in one-on-one situation and is capable of stretching defences with his pace and close control. However, he predominantly operates from the right flank, meaning he wouldn't be a like-for-like replacement for the Englishman. Bakayoko has a £52m release clause in his Leipzig contract. However, given his relatively underwhelming start to life in the Bundesliga, Newcastle may feel there is scope to negotiate a lower fee. William Gomes Porto's William Gomes has emerged as a top target for Newcastle in recent weeks - and their interest could accelerate with Gordon's future at St James' Park increasingly uncertain. The 20-year-old Brazilian has been turning heads in Portugal's top flight, scoring 13 times this season - averaging a goal every 139 minutes. He's drawn comparisons to Bayern forward Luis Diaz and his explosive pace, trickery and eye for goal is attracting attention from across the continent. Even so, Newcastle may view it as a calculated risk with significant upside, given his dazzling recent form. Saïd El Mala Newcastle could also turn to highly-rated FC Koln youngster Said El Mala. The 19-year-old has been tracked by the Magpies' scouts , it has been claimed, and the club may look to move early for him before rival Premier League sides enter the race. Primarily a left winger but comfortable across the front line, El Mala arguably offers the closest stylistic match to Gordon. He's also enjoying a standout campaign, registering 11 goals and four assists in 32 appearances. His raw pace, direct running and one-on-one ability make him a constant threat in transition and well-suited to Eddie Howe's high-intensity system. A deal would likely cost around £34m, although growing interest from elsewhere could yet drive that price higher. Jarrod Bowen View 4 Images Newcastle could look to sign Jarrod Bowen if West Ham get relegated (Image: Getty Images) West Ham's Jarrod Bowen is another option for Newcastle. The England international has been in blistering form in recent weeks, with nine goal contributions in his last 11 league games. Although predominantly a right winger, Bowen's ability to operate on the left or through the middle adds valuable tactical flexibility, making him an attractive option. However, any potential move would likely hinge on West Ham's fate, with relegation to the Championship a key factor - Bowen is unlikely to leave for a direct Premier League rival without significant reason. Article continues below The Hammers have previously slapped a £100m price tag on Bowen to ward off suitors but the financial realities of dropping a division could force a rethink - and a substantially reduced asking price could open the door for Newcastle.
