ADVERTISEMENT NAB 2026: PTZOptics and Moondream to Demonstrate Visual Reasoning for Live Sports Posted on: April 17, 2026 • 2 minute read PTZOptics (Booth N1902) will demonstrate a live sports AI workflow developed in collaboration with Moondream at NAB Show 2026. The demo uses Moondream’s vision language model to interpret a live soccer video feed in real time, identifying possession, ball changes, and key moments such as shots or goals, and using that information to drive camera movement and production actions. “PTZOptics has built a strong foundation for intelligent camera workflows, and this collaboration shows how our lightweight visual AI can add a new layer of understanding to live production,” says Jay Allen, CEO, Moondream . “Together, we’re demonstrating a practical step beyond ball tracking, where video can be interpreted and acted on as the action unfolds. They begin to understand the play and respond to it in real time. Instead of simply detecting motion, the system can interpret the scene more like a producer would, identifying who is carrying the ball and keeping the whole player in frame.” The NAB demonstration will include a live soccer demo with real-time AI interpretation displayed alongside the footage, automated camera moves informed by game context, and an example of how robotic cameras, AI, and cloud-connected workflows can operate together.
