ADVERTISEMENT NWSL Moves Sunday Night Package to Roku, Expands Slate to 25 Matches in 2027 By: Brandon Costa, Director of Digital • Posted on: August 26, 2026 • 3 minute read ADVERTISEMENT Roku Sports Channel will stream eight matches free beginning Aug. 30 as league shifts Sunday-night games away from Victory+ The NWSL has found a new home for its Sunday-night package, expanding its relationship with Roku to place exclusive matches on the Roku Sports Channel through the end of the league’s current media-rights cycle in 2027. Beginning Aug. 30, Roku will carry eight Sunday Night matches over the remainder of the 2026 season before expanding the package to 25 matches in 2027. All games will stream free on the Roku Sports Channel, which is available through The Roku Channel without a subscription. The move shifts the package away from Victory+, which began carrying Sunday Night Soccer earlier this year. Other NWSL matches previously allocated to Victory+ will remain available on NWSL+. The Roku agreement runs through 2027, coterminous with the broader NWSL media-rights agreements announced in 2023. The league’s existing partnerships with CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video, and Scripps/ION are unchanged. “We’re thrilled to be elevating our partnership with NWSL to include this exclusive package of Sunday Night matches, leading into and during what will be a watershed year for women’s soccer,” said Joe Franzetta, Head of Sports at Roku . “As sports fandom is continuing to grow alongside streaming access to sports, our audience reach will bring the NWSL matches to more than half of U.S. streaming households and deepen our commitment to highlighting women’s sports.” The first Roku-exclusive matchup will feature Seattle Reign FC against the Houston Dash on Aug. 30. The eight-game 2026 slate will run through Oct. 25, concluding with San Diego Wave FC against Boston Legacy FC. Beginning in 2027, Roku is slated to carry a Sunday Night match each week of the NWSL season, with the complete schedule to be announced. For the NWSL, the agreement provides a consistent destination for the package while adding the reach and built-in discovery tools of one of the largest connected-TV platforms in the U.S. “As we continue to grow the NWSL’s audience, we’re focused on making it as easy as possible for fans to find and watch our matches wherever they are,” said NWSL Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Epstein . “Roku’s tremendous scale and accessibility make them an exciting partner as we bring more NWSL matches to more viewers and continue building consistent destinations for fans to engage with our league.” The expanded agreement builds on an existing relationship between the league and Roku. In 2025, Roku launched an NWSL Zone within its Sports experience, aggregating live and upcoming matches along with clips and highlights to make league content easier to discover across the platform. Roku has continued to make sports a larger piece of its overall streaming strategy. According to Nielsen, Roku was the most-used platform for streaming the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the U.S. The company also says its Sports Zones in North America saw streaming hours increase 122% year over year in the second quarter, with unique visitors rising 80%. The Roku Sports Channel is available through The Roku Channel on Roku devices and TVs as well as TheRokuChannel.com, iOS and Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TVs, Google TVs, and other Android TV OS devices. IMG supported the NWSL in negotiations for the agreement.
