The three deals span sponsorship, fan engagement and broadcast innovation, reflecting the National Basketball League’s efforts to build deeper commercial integrations around its growing competition. Red Bull has joined the NBL as its official energy drink in a league-wide partnership. The agreement also makes the brand a Supporting Partner of HoopsFest and the Hungry Jack’s NBL Ignite Cup. Red Bull Energy Stations will be introduced at Ignite Cup games, while a new “Red Bull Heat Check Moment” will spotlight high-energy plays during NBL fixtures. Samantha Green, NBL Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Red Bull is one of the most recognisable brands in the world, and having them join the NBL says a lot about where this League is heading. It’s a natural connection; both brands are built on energy, innovation and pushing to be the best. Red Bull choosing to back the NBL now is further proof of the growth we’re seeing right across the game, and we’re proud to have them alongside us.” Heinz Australia has also joined the league as an official partner, securing courtside branding at regular-season games, integration into pre-game broadcast coverage, activation opportunities at HoopsFest Perth and exposure across the NBL’s social media channels. Samantha Green added, “Heinz products take centre stage on dinner tables right across the country, and we’re proud to welcome them into the NBL family. This partnership is about putting Heinz in front of our fans in a way that feels natural and authentic, whether that’s courtside at our games or as part of the HoopsFest family experience. We’re looking forward to a fun season together!” Alongside the new commercial agreements, the NBL has partnered with Australian sports technology company iCoach on a multi-year AI-powered game intelligence initiative. The technology will analyse game data and video to identify real-time trends, milestones, player achievements and other statistical insights, providing additional context for commentators and fans during live coverage. Heath O’Loughlin, Chief Media & Content Officer, NBL Group, said, “For our broadcast, this partnership is about giving commentators and fans the context they need and deserve in the moments that matter most. When amazing things happen in-game, iCoach will play a key role in helping our commentators bring that story to life instantly, rather than losing it in the flow of the game. It’s a genuine step forward in how we tell stories about the players and key people in our competition.” Together, the three partnerships underline the NBL’s evolving commercial strategy, combining traditional sponsorship inventory with branded experiences and technology-led content innovation as the league prepares for NBL27.
