Kate Hudson and Jake From State Farm in a promotional campaign for season two of Netflix's "Running Point" Netflix Partners With ‘Jake From State Farm’ to Market New Season of Kate Hudson Sports Comedy ‘Running Point’ Erik Gruenwedel April 27, 2026 Netflix is taking product placement to the hardwood court. In the new second season of sports comedy “Running Point,” starring Kate Hudson as president of the fictional Los Angeles Waves basketball team, Netflix is incorporating major brands into the storyline, including “Jake from State Farm” (actor Kevin Miles), among others. Since sports and brand partners go hand-in-hand, from arena naming rights to jersey patches and courtside signage, “ Running Point” would seem the perfect show to create brand surprises. In a marketing campaign, as the team faces potential risk, insurance giant State Farm steps in to help provide a solution, leaning into the brand’s signature humor and reliability. The collaboration includes an in-show integration and co-branded campaign, featuring Hudson and co-star Travis Bugg alongside Miles in character, who helps combat various challenges on and off the court. In a custom promotional spot with DoorDash , co-star Brenda Song comes to the rescue with a timely online delivery. Automotive brand Lexus created a custom spot that finds co-stars Fabrizio Guido) and Song driving to work in a new vehicle. Beauty brand Sephora is a sponsor of the L.A. Waves City Dancers locker room this season, outfitting it with beauty products to support their needs both on and off the court. In celebration of the integration, Sephora partnered with Netflix on a co-branded campaign, bringing energy to the front office with a bold performance from the city dancers to build excitement. The brand also activated the April 15 season two premiere with a “beat the beauty buzzer” shoot out challenge in Los Angeles that gave attendees the chance to win prizes, including Sephora Collection products and a limited-edition jersey. Viewers can also catch partnerships Ally Bank and Google Search in season two. Ally Bank serves as the presenting sponsor of the L.A. Waves’ home court — the Ally Bank Arena — and Google’s social campaign puts a character to the test as he uses AI Mode in Google Search to tackle one of his many impossible tasks. “The best partnerships are the ones that are relatable, entertaining and feel like they were always meant to be a part of the story,” said Magno Herran, VP of global brand marketing and partnerships at Netflix. “ The show offered us the opportunity to work with brands in a way that complements how they show up in sporting moments in the real world, allowing partners to not only step onto the L.A. Waves court but also naturally extend the show beyond the screen.” “Running Point” s easons one and two are now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
