It’s a textbook masterclass in building a commercial ecosystem around a "marquee signing." Get the best talent on the pitch, and the blue-chip sponsors and revenue growth inevitably follow. A 25% revenue jump for Uniqlo in the States suggests this isn't just a bit of branding, it’s clinical execution. From the Nikkei article ⬇️ TOKYO -- Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo is negotiating a partnership agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team in a bid for increased name recognition. Uniqlo, a subsidiary of Fast Retailing, is expected to acquire naming rights for some parts of Dodger Stadium -- the Major League Baseball team's home venue -- including the field itself, but not the arena as a whole. Details are still being finalized. The Dodgers have three active Japanese players: superstar Shohei Ohtani, who joined in the 2024 season, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki. The team has been gaining more Japanese sponsors, which now number around 20, including affordable lifestyle goods retailer Daiso and beverage maker Ito En for the 2025 season. Uniqlo had 77 locations in the U.S. as of the end of November 2025. The clothing retailer saw strong revenue from its North American operations in the fiscal year ended August 2025, bringing in 271.1 billion yen ($1.7 billion) for a 25% increase on the year. Uniqlo has two stores in the Dodgers' home city of LA, and it donated around $1 million in funds and clothing for disaster relief after wildfires struck the area in January 2025. https://lnkd.in/g22aZNnR Uniqlo set to partner with Dodgers on partial stadium naming rights deal asia.nikkei.com 12 Like Comment Share Copy LinkedIn Facebook X To view or add a comment, sign in
