EA Sports has launched its new Fanatics NHL Hometown Remix event for NHL 27, bringing 32 special edition jerseys to the game. Each NHL team gets its own design inspired by its hometown, fans and local hockey culture. The jerseys are also making their debut in the real NHL, giving fans a chance to see them on the ice and use them in the game. The event kicked off today with three NHL matchups featuring the new uniforms. The Detroit Red Wings visit the Florida Panthers, the Colorado Avalanche take on the Chicago Blackhawks and the Calgary Flames face the San Jose Sharks. Each home team will wear its Hometown Remix jersey with special Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) Moments based on those games available in NHL 27. HUT players can head to the in-game Store and grab a free Choice Pack containing one Hometown Remix jersey from any of the 32 teams. The pack will be available through December 31, so there’s plenty of time to pick it up. Players looking to collect more jerseys can find additional options in the Store or earn them by completing Moments. Your ultimate companion for sports gaming. World of Chel players get an even better deal, with all 32 jerseys automatically added when they first log in after the update. There’s no need to complete challenges or spend anything to unlock them. The uniforms can be used for both Casual and Club customization, giving players a few more options when hitting the ice with friends. Casual player jerseys can be claimed through the World of Chel Store and players have until December 31 to claim the collection. The jerseys are also available in Play Now and Franchise mode. The Hometown Remix theme carries over to the main menu, where the featured player will wear the jersey of whichever NHL team is selected as the player’s favorite.
