The agreement makes Celta the first Spanish client for OVG Hospitality and will see the companies develop a new food and beverage concept across the Vigo stadium as its wider modernization continues. The project is aimed at upgrading the experience for supporters, corporate guests and other visitors while helping turn Balaídos into a venue capable of attracting activity beyond football matchdays. OVG Hospitality already operates at major sports and entertainment properties internationally, including Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and Manchester City’s Etihad Campus. The company said its approach in Vigo will combine operational expertise with local suppliers, sustainability and regional identity. “We are particularly proud to launch OVG Hospitality’s operations alongside Celta,” Toni Ortega, President for Southern Europe at OVG, said in a press release. “This project reflects our commitment to Spain and to a hospitality model that combines excellence, sustainability and close collaboration with the local business community.” Advertisement The partnership comes as Celta looks to position ABANCA Balaídos as a broader year-round destination and strengthen the commercial potential of its infrastructure. Amy Latimer, Chief Business Officer at OVG, said improved hospitality could also have an impact beyond the stadium. “A world-class venue such as ABANCA Balaídos can be transformative for Vigo and the wider region,” Latimer said. “A high-quality food and beverage offering will help boost tourism, create new opportunities for local businesses and generate a positive and sustainable economic impact over the long term.” For Celta, the deal is another step in a broader push to modernize its facilities and create additional long-term revenue opportunities. Advertisement “Partnering with a company like OVG means a great deal to us and helps us meet the infrastructure demands of modern football,” said Celta President Marián Mouriño. “We are working to ensure that our facilities are seen as an asset that enables us to continue growing as a club and provides us with long-term stability.” The agreement could eventually extend beyond Balaídos. The companies have also left open the possibility of expanding OVG’s role into Celta360, the club’s planned development of its existing training complex into a wider hub for sports innovation, health, education and high-performance training.
