Scripps is launching Scripps Sports Network (SSN), a 24/7 free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel, on Tuesday, March 24. The new network will feature more than 100 live games and events, including coverage from the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Major League Volleyball (MLV). It will also offer more than 100 hours of Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) content alongside original series and documentaries. “In today’s fragmented sports media landscape, Scripps Sports Network is meeting the moment as a reliable, easy-to-access home for passionate fans,” Keisha Taylor Starr, Scripps Networks GM and Scripps chief marketing officer, said. “Our programming lineup makes Scripps Sports Network the most premium sports destination in the FAST marketplace.” The launch follows significant growth in the sector, with combined streaming viewership for the NWSL and WNBA on Ion up 25% in 2025. “Our recent live sports streaming growth tells us that fans are hungry for more,” Brian Lawlor, Scripps Sports president, said. “A dedicated 24/7 sports FAST channel allows us to further leverage our existing sports rights, create a platform for emerging league partnerships and grow our position in sports, particularly women’s sports, all while serving fans and marketing partners year-round.” State Farm has signed on as the network’s founding advertising partner. At launch, or shortly thereafter, SSN will be available on platforms including The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV Freeplay, Xumo Play, TCL tv+, Plex, Local Now, Sports.TV and Tablo. The network’s live event schedule includes: PWHL: Ten regular season games, beginning March 25 at 7 p.m. ET with the Montréal Victoire vs. the Minnesota Frost. NWSL: 59 live games as well as all NWSL on Ion coverage. MLV: 12 regular-season contests, starting with the Orlando Valkyries vs. the Columbus Fury on March 24 at 7 p.m. ET. Additional programming: Pro Cheer League, Athlos NYC, National Arena League, American 7s Football League and the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off. The channel will also feature original programming, including a conversation series hosted by broadcaster Suzy Kolber and another featuring Olympic champion Sanya Richards-Ross. Acquired content will include the series Cold as Balls featuring Kevin Hart. Brian Norris, Scripps chief revenue officer, said the network gives brands the ability to “integrate into both sports and original programming, outside of a paywall, and connect them with passionate, engaged fans wherever they’re streaming.” Scripps Sports currently holds partnerships with the WNBA, NWSL, PWHL, and several NHL teams, including the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights. Scripps Sports Network joins a FAST portfolio that includes Ion, Ion Mystery, Ion Plus, Bounce XL, Grit XTRA, Laff More and Scripps News.
