Seahawks Tap PayPal for First NFL Team-Level Ticketing Partnership Home » Seahawks Tap PayPal for First NFL Team-Level Ticketing Partnership By Olivia Perreault 4 months ago Seattle Seahawks and PayPal announce PayPal as the team’s Official Fan-to-Fan Payments & Exclusive Digital Ticket Payment Processing Partner The Seattle Seahawks are bringing PayPal deeper into the NFL ticketing game. The team and PayPal announced Monday a new multi-year partnership naming PayPal the Seahawks’ Official Fan-to-Fan Payments Partner and Exclusive Digital Ticket Payment Processing Partner. The deal makes Seattle the first NFL club partner for PayPal, following the company’s league-level NFL announcement in April. As part of the agreement, PayPal will be integrated into the Seahawks’ season-ticket purchasing process, giving fans the option to check out through PayPal. The company’s payment processing platform has also been integrated with Ticketmaster for Seahawks ticketing — a first for PayPal in the NFL. The partnership is not limited to checkout. PayPal will also become the presenting partner of the Seahawks Gameday Experience Program, which offers fans premium opportunities such as pregame field passes, on-field access during player introductions and postgame press conference access at home games. Advertisement For Seahawks fans, the pitch is simple: fewer payment headaches around game day. PayPal is positioning the deal around peer-to-peer payments, ticket splitting, group contributions and money movement between fans coordinating game plans. “There’s nothing like the energy of the 12s,” said Ben Volk, PayPal’s senior vice president and general manager of consumer. He said the partnership is aimed at helping fans “spend less time coordinating and more time enjoying” game day. The move also gives the Seahawks another digital commerce layer around tickets, upgrades, in-stadium experiences and fan engagement. For PayPal, it marks a high-profile club-level entry into the NFL and another step in its push across sports and entertainment. “We are thrilled to welcome PayPal, an industry leader in payments and digital commerce, to the Seahawks family,” said Amy Sprangers, chief revenue officer of the Seattle Seahawks. “Our shared commitment to innovation will elevate the gameday experience for the 12s in new and exciting ways.” Advertisement PayPal is also highlighting its broader fan-payment tools as part of the rollout, including PayPal-to-Venmo transfers, shareable payment links and Pools for group purchases. Those features could be especially relevant for fans splitting tickets, parking, travel, food or other game-day costs. For the Seahawks, the deal adds a major payments brand to the team’s commercial roster. For PayPal, it puts the company directly in front of one of the NFL’s most recognizable fanbases as digital ticketing and mobile-first fan spending continue to reshape the live sports business.
