The Little Fella Is Back! Juninho Returns For Legacy Game

The Little Fella is coming back to Teesside. Juninho will return for the Legacy Game at the Riverside on Sunday 4 October as part of the club's 150 anniversary celebrations. We're also delighted to confirm former captain Jonny Howson will also play in the match, just over a year on the popular midfielder's departure. BUY LEGACY GAME TICKETS HERE Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Boro's history, the Brazilian had three spells at the club. He first put pen to paper in 1995, and his performances had a lasting impact on supporters, helping Boro reach two major finals in an incredible 1996/97 season. He returned on loan in 1999/2000 and when the magician returned to the club for the third time in 2002 he cemented his legend status at Boro when he helped the club lift the League Cup in 2004. From his debut in 1995 against Leeds United to the final moment he pulled on a Boro shirt in a friendly with PSV, Juninho's legacy is already cemented. Howson's is, too, following an eight-year spell at the club which included 341 appearances and 10 goals. Despite joining as an attacking midfielder, Howson featured more prominently in a number of other roles, including midfield anchor, central defender and right-back. He promises to be sharp in the Legacy Game, too, as he continues to play for Leeds United's Under-21s as part of his coaching role at the club. You will now get the chance to cheer on the club legends one more time as they line up alongside the likes of Fabrizio Ravanelli, Christian Karembeu, George Friend, Tuncay, Craig Hignett and dozens of other former Boro players on 4 October. The game will kick-off at 4pm, and more details will be confirmed between now and the day. Ticket prices are £11.50 for adults, £6.50 for over-65s and £2.50 for under-18s. These prices include a £1.50 booking fee.
