Thomas was a four-year contributor for the Beavers, playing in 49 games over a five-year career in Corvallis and starting 24 during his redshirt-junior and redshirt-senior seasons. He was a team captain in 2024 and 2025 and led Oregon State in tackles both seasons. Thomas went undrafted in April, but did enough in stints at the American Bowl and Senior Bowl to land with Chicago as an undrafted free agent. Thomas played in all three of Chicago’s preseason games, contributing heavily on special teams — one of his biggest calling cards as a player — and made the most of reps in the Bears’ secondary. On August 22, the safety intercepted a pass from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Sean Clifford. He recorded five tackles in total and appeared on defense in a variety of roles, taking snaps at strong safety, free safety, nickel corner and outside corner. Thomas was one of 11 defensive backs to make the Bears’ initial 53-man roster and is expected to be a core special teams contributor as a rookie. In his Oregon State career, Thomas recorded 191 tackles (one for loss) and intercepted three passes. His younger brother, Cyani Thomas , was a three-star recruit and is a freshman on the 2026 Oregon State roster.
