Stockport County Women are delighted to announce a new partnership with Virgin Wines, who will become the team's Official 'Player of the Match' Partner for the remainder of the 2026/27 season. The partnership will see Virgin Wines sponsor the Player of the Match award at County Women's fixtures, recognising the standout performers as the team continues its first season operating on a semi-professional basis. As part of the agreement, Virgin Wines will provide products throughout the remainder of the campaign, with the partnership celebrated across the Club's digital channels. The agreement represents another positive step in the continued growth of Stockport County Women, as the Club builds new commercial relationships and creates opportunities for partners to support the development of women's football in the region. Tracey Neville, Managing Director of Stockport County Women, said: “It's fantastic to have Virgin Wines on board supporting the team. There's a real sense of momentum around women's football at Stockport County, and partnerships like this are another important part of what we're building. “Our players put so much into their performances every week, so it's great to have a partner helping us recognise those individual contributions. We're excited to welcome Virgin Wines to the County family and look forward to celebrating plenty more memorable moments together.” Ryan Green, Commercial Sales Director at Stockport County, added: “We're really pleased to welcome Virgin Wines as a partner of Stockport County Women. As we continue to develop the women's side of the Club, building relationships with established national brands is an important part of that journey. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to recognise the performances of our players throughout the season, while providing Virgin Wines with a platform to connect with our supporters. We're looking forward to working together over the coming months.” Andrew Whitham, Commercial Partnerships Manager at Virgin Wines, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Stockport County Women. It’s a club that shares our love of bringing people together and celebrating the big moments. We’re proud to support the team this season, and we’ll be raising a glass to every goal!” The Club looks forward to working alongside Virgin Wines throughout the remainder of the season.
