However, that is seemingly not going to happen any time soon, at least not in New Jersey, where the state's Attorney General has confirmed that she plans to continue investigating FIFA's ticketing practices after the tournament finishes. Back in May, Jennifer Davenport launched an official investigation into FIFA's ticketing practices and sent subpoenas to the governing body. The investigation stemmed from several issues, including FIFA's use of variable pricing and complaints from supporters. In a new interview with The Athletic, Davenport has confirmed that her investigation will continue and that she has not been deterred by the full stadium in North America throughout the tournament. She said: “Our appetite is to make sure that we’re protecting consumers all the time. The exploitation of fans and consumers is a huge piece of that. “This started because of what we were seeing in reporting, and when we have information like that, we want to make sure that we use our laws and our protections to make sure that we’re looking into it, especially as we’re grappling with an affordability crisis. We are looking at a few issues. The first is whether or not fans were misled about the seating location of the tickets they bought.” The good news for Davenport is that she is not alone in launching an investigation into such matters. California's attorney general wrote to FIFA in May about ticketing maps, while their counterpart in Texas launched an investigation in June amid accusations of fans being misled. Getting involved in a legal battle with FIFA is not going to be a straightforward process, as the governing body is going to fight back with everything it has. However, if genuine change is to be secured for football fans worldwide, it is necessary. If Davenport and her fellow AGs are successful, could it spell the end of Gianni Infantino's presidency?
