(ZEE) has expanded its sports broadcasting portfolio with the acquisition of rights to the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), adding professional golf to its growing line-up of premium sporting properties following a series of high-profile football acquisitions. The 12-month agreement covers 20 tournaments and up to 120 hours of live coverage. The events will be broadcast on Zee’s dedicated sports channels, Unite8 Sports , and streamed on ZEE5 , extending the reach of professional golf across television and digital platforms. The partnership is aimed at increasing the visibility of Indian golf while connecting the sport with a wider audience. It also provides Zee with a consistent stream of live sporting content, complementing its investments in international football and other sporting properties. The company has also strengthened its distribution capabilities through the launch of Unite8 Sports, positioning television and digital platforms at the centre of its sports strategy. The addition of golf creates opportunities to develop new advertising and sponsorship inventory while diversifying Zee’s sporting content. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. According to the company, its sports strategy remains focused on acquiring rights that deliver long-term strategic value and strengthen its entertainment offering. The PGTI partnership marks another step in Zee’s efforts to capture a larger share of the attention economy through premium, multi-sport content.
